The Red Data Book of the Flora of Cyprus, published in 2007, was the culmination of a multi-partner research project funded by the Research Promotion Foundation (RPF) of Cyprus.  As well as being a key starting point for future monitoring of endangered plants, the book is an important resource for the development of action plans in species and biodiversity conservation.

Pyramid Orchids (Anacamptis pyramidalis) require a sunny spot on diverse soils.  They are pollinated by butterflies and moths, the mechanism of which was discovered by Charles Darwin and described in the book Fertilisation of Orchids.
